Why we started this

While BodyGuard is a completely non-partisan organization, our origins admittedly came in the aftermath of the 2024 Presidential Election as we were having conversations with each other about the prices of our own birth control, and seeing people post about scheduling appointments to get IUDs. After touching base with clinics in states without abortion access, we confirmed that appointment requests for long-term birth control have been increasing dramatically since the election, and that there our idea for a fund would be addressing an existing need within these communities.

Claire Sabin

Claire has a master's degree in Public Health from the University of Georgetown, a Bachelor's in Political Science from Colorado College, and a strange but very impressive passion (in Dani's opinion) for running. She is originally from Colorado but lives in DC, and despite being the most athletic person on this team by far, she once lost both of her front teeth by tripping over a rock.
Dani Richardson

Dani is originally from Hawai'i but is currently in the process of moving to London . She has a master's degree in Applied Criminology, Penology, and Management from the University of Cambridge, a Bachelor's in Economics and Political Science from Colorado College and a copper IUD. She is, by all accounts, a certified yapper.
River Wittke

Born and (mostly) raised in Helena, Montana, River has a Bachelor's in Landscape Architecture from the University of Greenwich and currently lives in London. She has (in Dani's opinion) impeccable taste when it comes to all things aesthetic, and wants to use her platform to encourage others to watch the 1998 Pizza Hut ad featuring Mikhail Gorbachev (yes, that's a real thing).
